Dr Alasdair qualified from the University of Cambridge in 1990.  He joined Bristol Vet School, first as Intern in Small Animal Medicine and subsequently as Resident  Lecturer and finally Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery.  From 2009- 2018 he was in private practice in the UK and from 2018-2020 he was Chief Medical Officer at Concordia Petcare (Shanghai, part of the New Ruipeng Petcare Group).  In 2021 he returned to the Uk working for IVC-Evidensia and then Medivet.

He is now offering in clinic teaching in soft tissue surgery, formal lecturing and peripatetic surgery.
